SPACE AGE SCIENCE REVIVES TRADITIONAL HAIR MEMORIALS
The traditional practice of remembering a loved one with a lock of hair has been brought right up to date by a new process which turns the hair into a unique piece of jewellery.
The process fixes the lock of hair in a hard, clear polymer, which is then used to create the centrepiece of an item of jewellery.
Sentimental Connections managing director, Nick Cranham says: “This is a breakthrough in using space-age polymer technology to revive an ages-old tradition. “Until now, there has been no way of fixing the hair in an easy-to-manage and attractive material. You can’t fix it in molten glass – because it would burn the hair. “Our specially formulated polymer is the ideal material. It is clear, sets to a jewel-like finish and it lets the hair’s natural colour and character shine through.” “People are looking for unique and very personal memorials to their loved ones and using a lock of hair as a memento is a practice dating back centuries. “Now thanks to 21st century technology we can offer jewellery which brings this well-loved practice up to date. “Our new jewellery presents a very convenient and attractive way to keep the memorial locks with you at all times. |
